Swedish citizen sentenced to 15 years in prison for cryptocurrency fraud

According to CoinDesk, fellow Swedish Roger Nils-Jonas Karlsson has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for cryptocurrency fraud. Karlsson has already apologized for security scams, wiretapping and money laundering. It is known that the victims were asked to invest in cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and to defraud more than 3,575 people from November 2012 to June 2019, for a total of more than $ 16 million. Carlson was deported to the United States after being arrested in Thailand in June 2019.
