Buyeo County in South Korea takes an interest in 'GoodtraePay'

On July 28, the Cointelegraph reported that Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea has found interest in blockchain-based stability coins since the launch of the local "Zoo Trapay" token in early 2019. The vast majority of the population in this region is elderly. At the time of the announcement, around $ 48.5 million in tokens had been used to support the adoption of contactless funds in the region. According to Buyeo-gun data, 54% of people pay with Good Trapay or download an app. At least 8% of the tokens received by local businesses have not been converted to fiat. The region explained that the spread of Covid-19 has not resulted in the coin count since its start in late 2019.
