The Ethereum Bellatrix fork will integrate the current chain with a new chain of PoS beacons which is expected to be completed by June 2022 and will launch the beacon chain to promise ETH removal in December.

On January 9, superphiz, a security consultant for the Ethereum Beacon Chain community, announced that the Ethereum Bellatrix fork will combine the current chain with the new PoS Beacon chain. The fork does not allow removal of the beacon chain, and removal of ETH participants must be done within 6 months of assembly. After integration, normal GPU mining will no longer occur on Ethereum, otherwise the network will be protected by Standalone Proxy (PoS) credentials, which will start receiving bonus payments during the joint venture. Superphiz also expects Bellatrix to be up and running by June 2022, opening the beacon chain for ETH launches in December. In the past, Ethereum changed the name of the energy curve that combines ETH1 and ETH2 from Merge to Bellatrix.
