Twitter Blue launches NFT avatar feature for iOS users
On Thursday afternoon, Twitter announced that it would release iOS support for non-fungible tokens (NFTs). So far, this special offer is only available to paid users of Twitter Blue on iOS, and the Twitter Blue subscription costs $2.99 per month. As shown in the video, users can connect wallets such as Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, Metamask, Trust Wallet, Argent and Ledger Live, and set up NFT in wallet based on profile picture on minutes.
Users can also learn more about individual NFT avatars, such as owners, authors, descriptions, and authentication from third-party apps like OpenSea. According to Twitter, the platform has no additional connection with users of crypto wallets. However, the company keeps users' public wallet addresses so that they can continue to have their NFT avatar. Although you can only set up Twitter Blue on iOS, your NFT avatar will be visible on all platforms.
Development of this feature is still in its infancy. Twitter currently only supports static images such as Ethereum blockchain JPEGs and PNGs, including ERC-721 and ERC-1155 token models. However, if the user sells or modifies the NFT and configures it based on their profile picture, no membership information will appear when they click.
However, too much interest will not last long. According to Twitter user and blockchain enthusiast @HollanderAdam, the special feature seems to work with all NFTs with privacy, not just certification. This means online strangers can easily click, save and post NFT through their Twitter avatar to use as their avatar.
