Facebook's parent company Meta plans to explore NFT and DAO in 2022
As The New York Times reported this week, Facebook's parent company, Meta, is working to build a "relationship" with blockchain technology.
In a note to staff, Meta's new CTO, Andrew Bosworth (Andrew Bosworth), outlined the trading outlook for adopting and using a variety of blockchain and crypto technologies.
While the main goal of the upgrade is to gain traction with large companies such as Facebook, Google, and Amazon, blockchain technology has become a major focus in Silicon Valley. Some tech companies like Google still refuse to accept technology that causes disruption. But others seem to know more about what the new Web3 movement has to offer.
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is one of them. The latest CTO, Andrew Bosworth (Andrew Bosworth), will take office in 2022 and has plans for the company, including adopting blockchain.
The New York Times described Facebook's vision to adopt and use a variety of blockchain and crypto technologies, in a letter Bosworth sent to staff earlier this week. He said Meta should be careful and avoid big changes, but stressed that this technology should come before others.
According to the report, Bosworth believes blockchain will have a major impact on the tech industry over the next decade.
“All of my information works closely with blockchains,” he wrote. “I hope I won't be there, but I think it's worth a try if there is an opportunity to engage with website entrepreneurs3.
In his letter, Bosworth said Meta should develop ways to work with NFTs and consider regional investments such as smart contracts and DAOs.
But Bosworth's openness to NFTs, DAOs, and other Web3 features doesn't mean the company is working on decentralization. It has been argued that Facebook will always be the middleware, which is why it shouldn't compete with different technologies.
"Most people are happy to use Facebook and Google, but there are those who don't. People who are not involved in creating a real wave of technology."
