Blackjack Andreessen! Jack kidnaps Winklevoss! The battle between Bitcoin and Web3 continues.

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and Web3 supporters argued again on Twitter.

In a recent "Betwee" article, Dorsey and his supporters (including Musk) argued that Web3 was not a nightmare as experts claimed, but an anger controlled by the investment market. One of the evangelists was Marc Andreessen, co-founder of venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. Andreessen Horowitz is Web3's leading marketer and commentator.

Andreessen disliked Dorsey's speculation about the future of cryptocurrency and hacked Dorsey on Twitter to prevent Dorsey from seeing his tweets or communicating with him on the platform.

Andreessen himself has been frustrated with previous tweets in which Dorsey has reiterated his work that Web3 is an empty promise. He showed a cartoon image where venture capitalists swallowed all of their capital and left only a drop of water for the average trader.

Dorsey also responded by removing interest from Andreessen and other key cryptocurrency figures, including Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong.

The conflict between Dorsey and Andreessen Horowitz also marked the separation of key cryptocurrency numbers. Dorsey's tweets pose a new challenge for the shared thinking often seen in Web3 conversations, but they also affect Dorsey's personal preferences.

Dorsey is known in the cryptocurrency world as the maximalist Bitcoin. Bitcoin is more profitable than Ethereum and other blockchains, which have gained more and more popularity in recent years. It is pushing a concept of payment and NFT around Bitcoin, which some find strange because the current versatility of the Bitcoin blockchain is less than that of Ethereum and Solana.

The Bitcoin maximalism faction has been around for a long time, but so far there has never been a supporter like Dorsey.

The CEO of payment firm Bitcoin Strike also tweeted this week that 16z partner Chris Dixon had blocked it.

For Dorsey, her aversion to Web3 could stem from her love for Bitcoin as well as her worries. The new world of blockchain-based distribution demand could threaten the two companies he created, Square and Twitter.

This could be the case during Dorsey's recent campaign against David Sacks, another fundraiser supporting Web3.

Of course, all of this could go away in the next few weeks. However, the Dorsey and Andreessen controversy could also be the difference between Bitcoin purists and Web3 evangelists, which could create a landscape of the crypto space for years to come.
