If prices change significantly, will ETH records be reduced?

On November 23, famous blockchain scientist Hasu sparked controversy on Crypto Twitter by posting the following message:

One of the tenets of self-regulating ETH is to keep ETH in your home instead of relying on others to protect us. Etherscan has not seen the Bitcoin blockchain, but posted it on Ethereum and several leading sites, exchanges.

Here we have identified the ETH or Total Cost Lock (TVL) equivalent of these exchanges and their inputs and outputs.

The total balance of more than 300 companies is 18 million ETH, which equates to 77 billion dollars.

This equates to 15.5% of all ETH equipment. An additional 1.7% of ETH has been pledged for investments through the marketing of the Beacon bond agreement (Eth2).

An all-exchange exchange rate analysis showed that Coinbase currently holds most of ETH's $ 29 billion. In second position is Binance (Binance represents almost a third of all Bitcoins). Kraken, Bitfinex, and Gemini are in the top five.

By comparison, the two sites are unregulated with most ETH, the Beacon depository deal, and ETH tokens wrapped up, holding $ 36 billion and $ 31 billion respectively.

Another way to assess your TVL is to compare it to your packaging industry. Take a look at CoinMarketCap for detailed information. Crypto.com and KuCoin are ranked 11th and 12th according to TVL, but higher on the 24-hour volume list between 3rd and 7th respectively.

Comparing the ratio of TVL to the top 20 trading volumes, the daily trading volumes of Crypto.com and KuCoin represent 227% and 173% of TVL respectively. Among other things, trading in Gemini (1%), Bitfinex (2%), Kraken (3%) and Coinbase (4%) numbers is only a small fraction of ETH holdings.

Although Coinbase holds most of the ETH, most of the assets are stored in cold or non-cash wallets. In terms of foreign exchange deposits and withdrawals, Binance is far ahead. Coinbase, Kraken, Bitfinex, Huobi, Gemini, and FTX also contributed to the volume.

A popular heuristic (and resources that want to sell services) that traders use to estimate the exchange rate is to look at deposits and withdrawals in and out of exchanges.
